Thursdays, Year 2, Week 51
Picked a new template today..which is my 67th birthday! Never let anyone tell you that older people have trouble changing things, that's a myth. If anything, we have a lot of experience at change, so we know how to go with the flow. As long as we're not talking Depends here! That kind of change would definitely take a little getting used to.
Fortunately, my health is great and I'm nowhere near to needing Depends, so on the occasion of my 67 birthday, I'm counting my blessings. There are many, my family, my friends, my good health, my slightly cranky miss kitty, and last but not the least, a sweet old man who is taking me out for honey walnut shrimp to celebrate my birthday. I've had many phone calls, texts, picture messages and good wishes from friends and family for my birthday, so yes, this old woman is blessed!
Entering my 68th year, I intend to celebrate my life to the fullest. I promised myself that I would try something new and exciting at least weekly. That should make my goal of reaching at least 100 years a good adventure. I know that this day, I'm feeling a lot better than poor President Obama is after getting a loud and clear message from people about the piss-poor economy and catering to fatcats...hopefully, he will take a lesson from those of us who have already learned that people are sometimes fickle, and hardly ever satisfied with the status quo. In any case, we all just do the best we can and do it one day at a time. That's how I got to be 67!
Well, I've got to get myself all fancied up for my birthday dinner, so that's it for today. Give someone a hug...nothing is so important that a hug can't fix it!
