Sundays, Year 2, Week 47
The weather we are having is just amazing! I'm still finding peas, string beans and fava beans and even squash and here it is the first week of October! The temperatures all week have been in the high 70s and 80s and not under 40 at night. Definitely an old-fashioned Indian summer! According to the weather bureau, it's going to stay nice until November and they expect that this winter will bring lots of moisture and bitter cold. Not much new there! Here in Rock Springs, that's pretty much what we expect, some years are worse and some not so bad.
I made the old man's appointment with his heart doctor for the end of October, so that will be his yearly check-up. Kind of excited to find out we don't have to go to Salt Lake City, they also take patients in Park City, so that is something to look forward to. Park City is a little upper-crust for two old farts from Rock Springs, Wyoming, so maybe we'll be able to find a fancy place to have dinner before we come home. You know what I mean, a place where you order off the menu, not just go through a buffet line! The old man will have to wear his dressy suspenders and I'll have to curl my hair instead of wearing my Gilligan hat. Oh my!
Well, enjoy this lovely streak of weather, it's not going to last forever. I know I will.
